Understanding philippians 1

  • Paul has important reasons to write this not
  • The people are very special and important to him
  • Paul believes in a good and challenging prayer life
  • He believes in the day of Jesus Christ and challenges them to be ready for it
  • Paul battles with himself. He says he wants to die, but then live and help them, yet still wants to die. He is constantly batteling with himself over that situation
  • Paul loves the poeple for who they are and wants to help them
  • He believes that when Christ has preformed a good work in you, he will complete it
  • He really cares for these people. You can tell because he is always praying for them, and looking out for their best intrests, not his.
  • Paul is very thankful to help them
  • Paul wants the Philippians to grow deeper and deeper in Jesus Christ
  • He wants them to be able to determine what is pure and what isnt pure
  • Paul really does understand that he is in jail for a good reason. God has a plan for him there
  • People in the prison became Christians because of Paul's influence
  • Paul was put in jail to defend the faith
  • We should not be ashmed of the gospel. We need to embrace and share the gospel.
  • For us to live IS Christ, and die IS gain. I think that is very true. When you are a Christian and you die, it is gain
  • Paul feels like he wants to die and be with the Lord, and it would be a lot better. However, he knows he needs to stay on Earth and help advance the kingdom
  • We need to act like Christians if we are. Do not be fake. I really annoys me when people say they are Christians and they act the complete opposite
  • Paul understands their struggles because thats what position he used to be in
